My, my, my, how time flies! Can you believe it? Another birthday is just around the corner!

Let me tell you that 26 has been interesting. So much has gone down in year 26 that I’m surprised it’s just been a year.

I’m always going to be thankful for God because every day, I’ve seen His hands on me and I’ve experienced His protection, provision & preservation.

I don’t deserve the things He’s done for me but He does them anyway because of His grace. God’s grace will forever be undeserved and that makes it the most precious gift ever.

So, in 26, I expected to accomplish a lot of things. For starters, I wanted to re-register ACCA and get back on my journey to be a chartered accountant and I couldn’t make it happen because I didn’t have the funds yet.

I have been disheartened because of that but I know if I work a little bit harder, I’d be able to afford it.

Now, let me tell you what I wanted as my birthday present this year. I was going to buy a house! I was so excited. If you listened to my podcast: https://anchor.fm/baawa-unfiltered , you’d know that rent money was kicking my ass so I figured why not get a mortgage instead.

Reality came in hard & fast for me during that and frankly, I’m a little lost and tired.

Anyway, enough of the disappointments of year 26. Let’s move on to happier things. I finally took control of my finances and I am a blog writer for a finance app (Bethniel Finance) you should check it out.

Also, I started a new series on my Instagram page called #MarchMoney where I was educating people about their finances. It’s going to be annual. Follow me on Instagram @baawaunfiltered to get all the info you need.

So, I’ve always wanted to get myself a tablet, and guess what? I finally got myself one in year 26. Honestly, it’s the little things for me.

When I received all those no’s when I tried to buy the house, I was devastated. No need for fronting. I felt that God had let me down especially when I found my dream house and how I had these dreams that felt like His approval for this journey.

Anyway, it was unexpected but I met someone as I was house hunting and guys, I never thought I’d feel that way again. Well, that’s all I’m going to say about that.

The highlight of 26 was me going way out of my comfort zone to improve my life by becoming a homeowner. That is something that’s going to stick with me. Each year, I experience something that changes me forever, and trying to be a homeowner was that experience for me.

In the upcoming year, I know that it’s going to only get better. It’s nothing but up for me henceforth. It’s my season of elevation. I trust in God and I know that every word He’s spoken over me would not go back void but would fulfill its purpose.
