My, my, my how time flies! Can you believe today is the last day of 2020?! The year that was a lot to take in for everyone.

This year has been hard for all of us for various reasons and the obvious, COVID-19!

My deepest condolences to everyone who lost someone or something dear this year. If you’ve gotten here, I ask that you observe a minute of silence for the fallen this year and also don’t forget to say a prayer for those they left behind. Thank you.

So, this year started really great for me and I know a lot of us can relate but somewhere after the new year high had worn off, everything turned chaotic. Because COVID finally got our attention and the world sort of stopped for a lot of us.

We lost our sources of income and people that meant the world to us. And our worlds began to darken just a little bit.

This year’s review would be longer than the previous ones because turns out a lot happened.

And yes! This year I produced podcast episodes and also set up my YouTube channel! So, that’s one of the great exploits I did amid a pandemic.

Now, let me brag a tad more. I finally finished publishing every post for all the series on the blog. Remember Becoming Us? It’s complete now. Instant Mom? Finished! Diary of a sheltered teen? Done and dusted! Broken dreams? Complete! I am so proud of myself.

I told myself I was going to end the year with all the series concluded and I did so major goal accomplished.

A goal I couldn’t accomplish though was the weight loss goal. I actually gained more! Shocker, right?! Anywho, I’m not a quitter so I go again in the coming year. Mind you, I’m not trying to be skinny just fit and absolutely no belly fat or at least most of it is gone. My belly has been getting in the way of some outfits and ion like that😂

Another goal I couldn’t accomplish was to get a domain name because I lost my source of income and I still had bills to pay. As I write this, I’m owing my landlord some rent money and I’m terrified but I trust God to do something. I got a new job but my salary is locked up so this Christmas was meh for me but I’m thankful for God’s wonderful provision.

I have great news too! I’m finally out of my no dating phase. 2021, ya girl is back in the game! I’m going to try again. I gave myself 2020 to heal and move on and frankly midway through the year, I knew I was ready but I had to go through the whole year and I did.

Despite everything, 2020 was a good year. I read the previous curtain calls before I started writing this year and I realized how far I’ve come and all that I’ve accomplished. It’s slow progress but I’m progressing and that’s all that ultimately matters.

Truth: Before this week, I had plans of just up and quitting on Baawa Unfiltered but I’ve changed my mind. I’m seeing it through to the very end because, for some reason, it’s kept me going when I didn’t want to move anymore.

My advice: Find what you love and don’t let anyone or anything stop you from enjoying it. Life is too short to live someone’s life. If 2020 didn’t teach you anything, I’m sure you learnt to seize the day! Carpe diem amigos!
