I know a lot of Ghanaians in Accra felt the earth tremor and some like myself slept through it because we didn’t feel it or it didn’t happen at our location.

On the social media platforms, the fear is palpable. A lot of people were terrified if it was going to be their last day. The fear, in my opinion was about where they were going if indeed they died today.

Many believe in God but have not submitted themselves to Him. They are not in relationship with God. Like the Bible says,

“And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭29:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

No one knows when the Lord will come a second time to separate His people from the rest. We are all aware of the day we were born but no one knows when he or she will die. Our death day is unknown. If you’re a church goer then you have heard many sermons and have read scriptures that indicate that more than the acts you do, God wants your heart. He wants you to accept His love and also wants to be loved by you.

More than your sacrifices, He wants your obedience. He requires that you be the light and salt of this world. Our great commission is

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

But how can you do that when you haven’t fully gone into relationship with God. Today if you read this post, don’t harden your heart. Accept the Lord.

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s not God’s desire for anyone to perish. He wants to spend eternity with us.

“The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

And if you’re a believer in relationship with God then please don’t forget to do your part by making disciples. Because people can’t be saved if you keep the Good News of salvation to yourself.

“But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I didn’t make this post because I think I’m better off than you but because this message was laid on my heart as I read the various posts in social media this morning. No one knows when they’ll die and I’m not using fear to push you into relationship with God.

I’m just telling you what God’s word says. God is real. And so are Heaven and Hell. Everyday you wake up you have a choice to make. Live for God or not.

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭30:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:30‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I know how amazing and life altering that decision to surrender to God is and I ask that you give God a chance. Let Him in and watch how your life changes.
