Dear Diary,

The much awaited day is finally here!!! (Jumps excitedly) I’m waking up at home with my family but by night-time, I’ll be sleeping in my room on a college campus. I’m so happy.

Hours later

Hey! Missed me? (Smirks) Guess my location! Yep, you guessed it. (winks) I’m currently in my room on campus! Away from mom & dad’s controlling clutches (whew). Let me fill you in.

For the first time in forever, I was all set for an outing. Mom and dad were surprised. Mom said she bet I was too excited to sleep and dad agreed. They joked and we had a very normal family breakfast. We got my things loaded into the car and off we went. We played a couple of car games we used to play when I was little while my parents reminisced about my childhood. I chipped in when necessary but most of the ride I was occupied. We got to campus and I signed up and was escorted to my dorm room. I have a roommate btw. Her name’s Ava. She seems nice and my parents approve of her so clearly she’s not part of my brand new adventure (giggles). There’s so much to say but Ava is inviting me to join a group of freshers for a night out so… I’ll be back (winks)
